Next Stop Disney World

Parker moved to Disney World on Monday to begin the College Program there. He'll be working with the Skyliner. He has a few days to get settled in and adjusted before his training starts on Friday. 

He's in Flamingo Crossings East Village in Winter Garden, just across 429 from Disney property. The character on your lanyard (Edna from The Incredibles) tells which section of the Village your building is in. 

He's up on the fourth floor and is in an apartment called a 2x2 - There is a shared kitchen and living room in the center with a bedroom and bathroom for two people on each side. 

There are some cool common areas and some resort looking pools. 

 

Renewal Leave - Part Fourteen - Disney Day #2

On Wednesday morning, I worked out at the fitness center and then walked the lake around Bonnet Creek. We are in tower 5 which is on the right in this picture. 

We headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge for breakfast and Wesley showed off his new Man City jersey from Lydia (anniversary present!). 

Then we hit up Animal Kingdom. 

We did Flight of Passage in Pandora and then headed for the Kilimanjaro Safari. No lions this time but lots of other animals were out and active. 

Then we grabbed some snacks and hit up the bird show. 

Wesley and I rode Expedition Everest before heading out of the park. 

We took a break and went back to the resort for a while - more pool time for me! Then about 7pm we parked at Hollywood Studios and took the Skyliner over to Epcot. Parker will be working here in just a few short weeks. 

At Epcot we grabbed some snacks and walked and shopped a bit before heading back to the resort. We actually got to see the Epcot fireworks from the Skyliner on the way back. Parker and I finished up the night at the lazy river. 

 

Parker Disney College Program

Parker got his role assignment for the Disney College Program and he got Transportation - he will be working at the Skyliner!

The Skyliner is the newest form of Disney transportation, debuting in October 2019. It goes between Hollywood Studios, Epcot and four hotels (Caribbean Beach, Riviera, Pop Century and Art of Animation). Daryl and I rode the Skyliner in the first week it was operational and we took the boys that November to ride it. We had a picture of Parker on the Skyliner from his first visit.

 It has always been a favorite of the kids - sometimes we ride it when we visit Disney Springs and don't even go into a park. 

He reports on August 31 to Disney for the college program. It has been so good having him home for the these last few months.
