Renewal Leave - Part Eight - Things Around Town

Finally got the chance to visit the Sarasota Farmer's Market downtown on a Saturday morning. Lots of great produce and all kinds of other things from small businesses.

Out walking one evening after a storm, and there was a full rainbow.

Parker and I went down to the beach to walk on Sunday night and caught the tail end of sunset.

Mother's Day Part Two

On Sunday morning I preached at Trinity UMC in Sarasota. And then in the evening the guys took me out for Mother's Day. My gift was a surprise sunset cruise around Siesta Key and Sarasota Bay. It was awesome to hang out in the Intercoastal and see the islands in a way that we usually don't get to.

The dolphins were out to play a lot which was fun!

Going under the north Siesta Key bridge.

The white house on the left was owned by Andre Agassi.

A view of the Ringling Bridge from Sarasota on the right to Bird Key and Lido Key on the left

The house on the left was the childhood home of Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman). The house on the right belongs to Urban Meyer.

Good Friday Beach Walk

The five of us had dinner on the key on Friday night and then Wesley left to get his haircut. The rest of us went for a two mile sunset walk on the beach.

Date Day Beach Walk

Friday Daryl and I got pedicures and massages and grabbed lunch at Oak and Stone. And then later on, we took a sunset walk on Siesta Key. So much damage still but signs of hope and life. We just have a lot less beachfront than we used to thanks to sand erosion.

This mammoth tree used to sit next to the house at the Point of Rocks house. People used to hang shells in the branches.
