A Night to Remember

Thursday night was Maundy Thursday, so Daryl had a worship service at church. 

But it was also Senior Prom for IMG Academy at the new Mote Aquarium in Sarasota. 

Thankfully Lydia was able to come down to be able to attend with Wesley. 

They looked so good together!

Davis and I pulled into the driveway at home the other night just in time to see Artemis II go in the air. 

So very cool! 

 

New Wheels

Introducing Betty White!! This is my new to me car, a 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid. 

We bought it last night with 20,000 miles on it from the Hyundai dealership in Sarasota. I've been tracking down what I wanted for months.

IMG Spring Break Invitational

Saturday we spent at IMG for their Spring Break Invitational. Parker was home so he came with us plus Vicki and Ellen from Grace UMC Venice.

Wesley did both high jump and long jump. 

He finished 2nd at high jump with a height of 1.87meters. 

And he set a new PR for long jump at 6.31meters. This helped him finish 5th overall.

Birthday Boy

On Friday, I dropped Daryl off in Lakeland to bring my car home (Parker had mine while his was in the shop). He took Parker out to dinner at Harry's. 

And on Saturday night, Parker asked Daryl and I to go for a walk with him for sunset on the beach - this is his birthday weekend and he turns 22 today. 

We took him out for ice cream for dinner on Sunday night to celebrate! 

 

Life Around the District

Tuesday I had lunch in downtown Sarasota with one of our pastors, Beth Bostrom. 

And that evening we hosted the district at Gulf Cove UMC in Port Charlotte with Bishop Berlin. 

On Thursday pastor Nick Lee chaffeured me around on a visit out to Frostproof so we could do some dreaming and planning for the district - including a visit with Dr. Luz Maldonado and her husband Juan.

Friday evening I drover over to UCF Wesley to attend the kickoff night of their spring retreat with the campus ministry from Miami also. I helped sponsor a hip hop concert from the Office of Clergy Excellence. We had a couple of hours of dancing and worship before listening to a great sermon about calling.
