Gator Game

Friday afternoon we headed up to Gainesville for our Family Fun Night. Daryl got us tickets for the Gator baseball game against the University of Miami. We had dinner at Red Robin and got to the stadium about an hour early so the boys could watch the teams warmup. And the Chick-fil-A cow came over for a visit.

At the middle of the 4th inning Daryl took the big boys downstairs and back towards the outfield. They had been picked before the game by the UF marketing people to run a race on the field between the 4th and 5th innings. They got lots of time to hang out with Albert and the Chick-fil-A cow to practice before their race.

And here's the big race. The boys were thrilled to hear the announcer give their names over the loudspeaker. Parker won a card for a free Chick-fil-A sandwich.

It was about 35 degrees outside after the sun went down. We were bundled up in jackets, gloves, hats and scarves and brought a big stack of blankets to keep warm. Thankfully the Gators made everything worth it by winning the game 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th inning!
