Beach Vacation

We were back at Horizons West on Siesta Key for our family vacation this past week. We took relatively few pictures this beach week and no family pictures. Most of the time we were out and about without our phones, just enjoying ourselves. There was a lot of rain, but a lot of great time for walking and hanging out in the pool.

This is the ice cream truck on the water. It went up and down all week long.

And our final morning. So beautiful.

Adventure in the Skies

We tried a new-to-us thing to close out the summer - a Zipline and Adventure Course in Bradenton.

Here we are on the small demo course getting ready.

And then we did a beginner course before heading over to the Intermediate one.

Then we did the Expert Ascend Course.

Here's Daryl going into the cargo net.

And Davis too!

Then we did the big extended zipline... Davis first.

 Then Wesley

Then Parker

Wesley filmed me from the end. I lost my hat!

Then I filmed Daryl from the end.

Wesley went back again to see if he could spot my hat but no luck.

All told we spent about 2 hours out having fun! Wesley did the Expert Lead course instead of the Ascend with the rest of us and he said that was super super tough. None of us tried their double diamond Extreme course - something for another day perhaps!

Beach Time

We had a great time hanging out at the beach for our last official week of summertime (Davis starts school on Monday. We stayed at Horizons West again (4th summer). They've managed to fix up most of the damage from last year's hurricanes (Helene and Milton).

We spent time every day at the pool and a few days I got in poolside reading.

We ordered takeout and brought it back every night so we could eat dinner from the enclosed porch with this sunset view.

And then generally we went for a sunset walk of at least two miles on the beach.

Here's some other pictures of our week.

Friday included a visit from the Hills and the rain finally caught up to us too, cutting our walk short before it really got started.

Saturday morning I got up and went to my yoga studio. When I got back we went to the pool and then for an early walk on the beach. A couple of military helicopters flew low and right over us at one point.

We caught our last sunset from the room - storm to the left of us, sunset to the right.
