Boy Scout Court of Honor

At the last Court of Honor of the year, the boys each received some new merit badges. 

Glad to celebrate these milestones! 

 

Fishing While Camping

Wesley and Davis went camping this weekend out at Longino Ranch in Myakka River State Park. They went fishing and Wesley caught his largest bass yet at 3lbs. 

  

Scouts In Training

I am a new assistant scoutmaster with Troop 50. So I had to attend IOLS training at Camp Flying Eagle in Bradenton this weekend (Friday-Saturday). The camp is pretty, especially its outdoor chapel area. 

 

Two Celebrations on One Night

On Tuesday night, our celebrations kicked off with Davis' winter concert. He's in the middle school Chamber Orchestra this year and is the only double bass again. 

We were all there for the first part of the concert and then Wesley and I took off for the Court of Honor. Daryl and Parker stayed and got great videos of the pieces Davis played. 

Troop 50 Court of Honor - The rest of the family made it in time to celebrate. Wesley ranked up to Star and received two Eagle required merit badges (Citizenship in Nation and Citizenship in Society). Davis also received the Citizenship in the Nation merit badge.

Boy Scout Court of Honor

Tuesday night was the first Court of Honor for the year. As Chaplain's Aide, Wesley gave the opening prayer. 

Both of the boys received merit badges from summer camp. 

Wesley earned Rifle and Woodcarving. Davis earned Citizenship in the World, Music and Art. 

Congratulations to the boys on their continued progress! 

 

Scout Camp

Wesley and Davis spent the weekend at Camp Flying Eagle in Bradenton, for the Cowan Challenge between  Troop 50 and Troop 23. Even though Troop 23 edged it out, the boys still had a good time. Wesley had an awesome score on the tomahawk throw (7 points). 

 

Fur Babies and Scouts

Fergus was sound asleep and precariously perched on the back of Daryl's recliner.

Boy Scout Summer Camp

I finally got an invite to join the Troop 50 Facebook page and then we could see the pictures from summer camp at Rainey Mountain. 

Friday Night Plans

Friday I got in a labyrinth beach walk during the day 

Friday night we dropped off Davis and Wesley for a Boy Scout campout to Inverness - and they ruled down the Rainbow River. 

And then we went into Siesta Key Village for dinner at Baja Grill and took a short sunset beach walk

End of School Year Scouts

When your Scout Troop meets near the beach, you take advantage of that. End of school year party for scouts was a family cookout on the beach at Siesta Key.
