Random Slices of Life

No track meet on Saturday so it was back to yoga and a labyrinth walk for me.

Caspian got to spend a little time outside chillin' in the yard.

On Sunday morning early I flew out to Kansas. I'm attending a clergywomen conference there this week - but came out early to spend time with my Uncle Roger and Aunt Mona. The yard of their house is so pretty and I had fun playing with their cat Mitch.

After some lunch, we went to the Sunday night service at their church.

Impromptu Beach Trip

After a few church meetings yesterday, I stopped by Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island for a labyrinth walk and a walk down to the lighthouse and the beach. It was so good to get out and stretch.

Time at Camp

Back in Fruitland Park this week for Board of Ordained Ministry interviews. Praying for those clergy interviewing this week for provisional and full connection status. And praying for our board members for wisdom and discernment.

Retreat Time

I had the best time on Monday out at DaySpring Episcopal Retreat Center in Parrish - I was asked to lead a church staff on retreat. So much fun!

The center has a beautiful little chapel, some water features and also a labyrinth. But the best part of the day was the people I got to work with from Trinity UMC Bradenton.

Saturday Around the Town

Davis got a haircut!

Daryl and the cat took a Saturday afternoon nap.

And I went to yoga, walked a labyrinth and got some laps in around the neighborhood.

Weekend Fun

Saturday after my workout, I went to get my hair done and walked a labyrinth at Church of the Palms in Sarasota.

Meanwhile Daryl and all of the boys went to Tropicana Field for a Rays yard sale. $20 a bag for merchandise plus a voucher for 2 free tickets. Each of them got two bags full of merch: hats, t-shirts, jackets, cups, bobbleheads, lanyards and more!

And then Daryl and I went to a wedding in Venice for the church's preschool director.

Labyrinth in the Woods

St Simon's Island has a beautiful labyrinth at the historic Christ Church on the island. I found some space in the schedule to go over and walk it today. Just super peaceful.

Christmas Around Town

Sunday the 22nd, I worked all day in my comfy clothes in the district office by myself (12+ hours). I took a walk to STarbucks after dark and ran across this beautiful tree in one of the squares.

On Christmas Eve Davis and I visited the brand new Asian market in Sarasota. It's bigger than the one we used to go to in Orlando and the fish counters are just like in China - live animals in tanks to catch yourself!

And then we popped onto Siesta Key to walk a labyinrth.

Broken but not Destroyed

I walked my favorite labyrinth (my first time back) after the election and the state of the labyrinth matched my mood. Hurricane damage left its mark and there were several broken stones including the center one.

Summer LIfe

After getting home from camp dropoff, we made a trip to the beach to see the sunset.

We walked out one evening to find this family of deer in the backyard.

With just mom and dad around while the boys were at camp, these two snuggled a lot.

I found some labyrinth time after yoga.

There was a bird obsessed with our front door one night. Fergus was guarding the door for hours just in case the bird got inside......
