Time at Camp

Back in Fruitland Park this week for Board of Ordained Ministry interviews. Praying for those clergy interviewing this week for provisional and full connection status. And praying for our board members for wisdom and discernment.

Warren Willis Camp

Wesley and Davis headed off to Warren Willis camp this week. A few of our clergy friends were there for visits and texted us pictures of the boys.

They had a good week. But Davis' gastritis flared up towards the end of the week and he spent Thursday night in the infirmary before he had to be checked out on Friday morning. He joined the rest of us at Disney.

Weekend at Camp

I spent time this weekend at camp in Fruitland Park speaking at a retreat for high school and college students about calling. I got to stay in a special suite overnight on the conference side.

And on the way home, I drove around Fruitland Park a little bit. Parker's name is up on the Troop 143 trailer at the church as an Eagle Scout. And the new Fruitland Park Elementary school is almost finished.

Boys at Camp

Daryl and I did a camp dropoff run on Monday. Wesley drove himself and we drove Davis along with another boy from Grace UMC Venice and our friend Mary from Fort Myers.

They seemed to have a lot of fun over the week. Both Wesley and Davis were in high school camp and that's what Parker was assigned so he was in the same cabin as his brothers.

Then on Saturday, Mary's mom Christy brought home Davis and Wesley stayed to hang out with his girlfriend for a bit before coming home.

Camp Check In

Last Monday, Latricia and I went to camp to speak to all of the camp counselors about calling: our general calling as believers and also a specific calling to pastoral ministry.

Daryl and I got to see and hug our favorite camp counselor.

And we got to see the Standifer girls.

Rev. Madeline Luzinski was there. I was her pastoral supervisor when she interned at camp back in 2015 and now she's an ordained deacon serving as the chaplain at the Children's Home.

Rev. Corey Jones, the new camp director, gave us a tour. Lots of work has been happening and things are looking good. The old playground had just come down and was getting replaced too.

Wesley tagged along with us to see his friends - he got to hug on Parker and aggravate Bellamy with how tall he is now!
