Renewal Leave - Part Nine - Bella on an Adventure

I went back to Sleeping Turtles Preserve to hike this week and this time I took Bella with me. She loves a good long walk and this trail allows for dogs. It also never seems to be super busy. We only saw three people and no other dogs. She had a blast sniffing everything in sight so it was a slow 2 mile walk but a great one exploring everything. 

 

My Zoom Companions

These two furry friends joined me on my Zoom calls today. 

If they aren't in the room with me when the Zoom starts, then Bella opens the door when she hears me talking and lets the two of them inside. 

 

Fur Friends

Our furry friends are so sweet and cute. And they were SO glad to have Parker home for the wekeend. 

They broke into his room after he went back to Lakeland to sleep on his bed again. 

And for the new car, we ordered a dog seat to help protect the seat and keep the fur contained when transporting the dogs. Caspian snuggled right in when we tested it out. 

 

Ten Years of Dogs

Bella's Gotcha Day was Friday February 20 2016. This week marked 10 years of being dog people. Amazing to look back and see how she has changed and how the boys have over the last decade. 

She's the leader of our little group of fur babies. And such a sweetheart! 

 

Random Slices of Life

Sweet snuggle babies. Bella has finally learned to sleep in the large bed, which means Caspian and Fergus share the small one now. 

Some of my plants are blooming so pretty. 

 

Friday Fun

Daryl and I went on a nice long four mile walk on the Legacy Trail on Friday. 

We also took Bella and Fergus to the vet for their routine checkups. Everything was good. Bella loves the car ride and the vet and their chicken treats! She always astounds the vet office for old she is vs her puppylike attitude and how good her weight is. 

Fergus is never impressed by the vet's office.

Love these two and their antics - and their general laziness too. 

A Boy and His Dog

Bella loves Parker so much. She will be very sad when he goes back to school. She's spent all summer sleeping on his bed. 

 

Fur Friends

Our cat Fergus is good friends with the dogs. And he grooms them especially their ears because apparently he thinks they do a bad job. The cutest part is how still the dogs lay when he does this - almost like they are afraid to move. 

 

 

 

Fur Babies

While we were having some work done on the inside of the house this week, the dogs and I spent Thursday working from the back porch.

They were so tired when we got back inside, they snuggled down in their dog beds and Fergus joined in for snuggles.

While we were out on vacation, the dogs were too. We have found a new sitter on Rover who watched the dogs for a weekend last month and then for spring break. They had a lot of fun with Leslie's pug Patrick and other dogs that were staying at her house. They came home plenty tired after days and days of playing with all their new friends.

 

A Little Pixie Dust

Last week I went to Epcot with Amy and Parker; this Monday morning I got to go with Daryl, Wesley and Davis. We spent a couple of hours in Epcot riding Soarin, watching the Pixar Short Film Festival, and getting some snacks. 

Daryl and I have been to three of the places in the Soarin video - Great Wall, pyramids in Egypt and the Red Rocks of Arizona. The boys have been to the Great Wall and Arizona. 

We found a new dogsitter on Rover and tried her out overnight for this Orlando trip - the dogs had a great time at her house and made a new friend. 

 

Parker's Turn

Parker had oral surgery on Friday. It was supposed to be Monday but the office didn't have power from Milton back yet. (This is his fall break week). This is Parker's first surgery and first time getting anesthesia. He had a sweet furry friend to snuggle with in recovering. 

 

Family Time

We had a low key Labor Day - the Hills came to visit and swim and we made kabobs on the grill. These are the only two pictures we got. 

 

And Miss Bella has been doing a lot of extra snuggling lately. So sweet. 

Hurricane Debby

Hurricane Debby made for extra work this week. While it was only a tropical storm while it was near us, it rained for over 24 hours straight and left over a foot of rain in its wake in Sarasota. That meant lots of flooding - residents here are saying the flooding is worse than anything they've seen since 1992. While our neighborhood is safe and dry, lots of other neighborhoods look like this. So awful and sad.

I ended up working from home this whole week supervising some projects around the parsonage (new flooring in the bedroom, new dishwasher) while sloughing through a ton of email, phone calls and Zoom meetings. Bella was a faithful companion, sitting near my feet under the desk all day long.
