July 4th - Part II - Swimming and Fireworks

After the parade we went back to Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house for lunch and a nap. And then about 5pm, Uncle Daniel, Aunt Dawn and the cousins came up for some time in the pool. Parker is getting braver all the time with swimming and loves to jump into the water. He was even brave enough to follow cousin Micah in running from several feet away and then jumping into the pool.

Wesley loves to chill out in the water and splash his feet and hands.

Later we rigged up the inner tube with another small float (thanks Aunt Dawn) and Wesley was able to go floating around in the pool and watch his Bubby and cousins be crazy. He really seemed to enjoy riding the waves that everyone made with all their jumping in!

Then we gathered on the back porch for dinner - yummy salad, bread, spaghetti and banana pudding! After getting cleaned up we headed back into Brandon and parked at the Target just outside the Brandon Town Center Mall for the fireworks. Before the show started, Grandmommy had sparklers for all the kids. Parker surprisingly enjoyed it, although he got a little nervous if one of his cousins got too close to him with a sparkler.

They moved up the start of the show fireworks show because of a big thunderstorm headed our way, but thankfully we were still able to see the whole thing. Parker really enjoyed the fireworks this year, but Wesley wasn't so crazy about the loud booms. A wonderful end to a great day!
