Friday night was an evening that our boys had been looking forward to for several weeks. It was the September gathering of our clergy couples group and we were to meet at the Johnson's house in Ocala. We arranged for Miss Kelly to come and babysit the boys at our house and the Holden's dropped off their 4 year old son Will. All we have heard for the last couple of weeks is "when is Will coming to play?" The boys had quite a playdate - pizza and snacks and popsicles - playing outside on the slip-n-slide, playing inside with toys and watching a movie (they were still up when we got home). The gr0wnups had a pretty good time too hanging out. Our 6:30 dinner lasted until 10:30pm!
But there was no sleeping in for us on Saturday morning. Mommy and Daddy had made reservations to attend a marriage conference with Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott at Church of the Springs in Ocala. It ran from 9am to 3pm and included lunch for us. It really was a very good seminar on expectations and communication, with a lot of practical helps. We try to do something every year to enrich our relationship and this was what decided on for 2010 (last year we did the Financial Peace University). We issued an invitation at both churches for people to attend and had 3 from BUMC and 1 from DHUMC attend as well. The boys tagged along as the church also offered childcare. The boys had fun in their different classes - they made crafts, played outside, heard a Bible story and had lunch and two snacks. Afterwards, we ran a few errands and then headed home to watch the Gator game on the DVR - go Gators!!!!!! For dinner we walked down the backyard to Daddy's church and picked up dinner from the Boy Scout Fish Fry - isn't that convenient?
