Disney Time

The Allen Family went to Disney World to use up the last day of our passes from Christmas break. Our first evening we arrived at Pop Century Resort on Disney property about 5:30pm. Mommy had stayed here for one night with her covenant group a few years ago, but this was the first time for the family to stay on property at an official Disney hotel. The boys were duly impressed with the Disney atmosphere and all of the cool, oversized things around this particular resort.

Our room was in the 50's section with a view of the Bowling Pin pool. The boys were tickled to find a towel animal in the window ledge! We got our luggage settled in and hung out for a few minutes.

Next up was a walking tour around our resort while it was still light outside. The staircases on the end of the buildings in the 50s were bowling pins (that hotel across the water is the new Art of Animation resort set to open later this year).

In the 60s section the staircases are giant yo-yos.

In the 70s...and this time the staircases are 8-tracks.

The 80s....with their rubix cube staircases.

And into the 90s, computer pool and all.

At the end of our tour, we grabbed one of the Disney buses and went over to Downtown Disney to walk around. Stopped by the LEGO store for the boys and had dinner at Earl of Sandwich. Then we headed back on the bus to our resort to call it an early night. The bowling pin staircases in our section were so pretty all decked out at night.

The next morning we were up, packed and dressed fairly quickly. Heading out to the car for the park, we saw this on one of the vehicles next to us. We love it too!
