Yesterday I spent the day back home in Tampa on the campus of my alma mater USF, with my mom at Moffitt Cancer Center. It was time for another checkup. Her day included a PET scan, bloodwork, an appointment with her oncologist Dr. Han and another monthly infusion.
She got some really good news. The treatments (daily pill; monthly infusion) are continuing to work in shrinking her cancer. There was no signs of activity in her bones on the PET scan. Spots in other areas including her lungs were stable. There was signs of decreased activity in the lymph nodes. So she will remain on the current treatment regimen indefinitely and has another appointment with Dr. Han in March.
Daryl kept the boys here at home and they had a busy fun evening which included.......a trip to Subway for dinner, signing Parker up for spring baseball at the Rotary Sportsplex, a trip to the mall to spend their Christmas Game Stop gift cards on more Skylanders, a trip to the grocery store for some Redbox movies and cinnamon rolls for today's breakfast!
