New Year's Eve and Day

After getting back from our cruise, we spent a couple of days hanging out with Grandmommy and Granddaddy in Seffner. Our New Year's Eve was definitely relaxing, letting the boys play with Christmas toys, eating dinner at home and then special New Year's Eve snacks that Grandmommy made before letting the boys play with sparklers in the yard.

On New Year's Day, we headed over to Kissimmee to the Gaylord Palms Resort to see this year's edition of ICE with the theme of "Twas the Night Before Christmas." It was Grandmommy and Granddaddy and Davis' first trip to take in ICE! The detail in the ice carvings was really awesome but man oh man is it ever cold in there!!! 9 degrees inside the building which is pretty cold even with that nifty blue coat that they give you to wear.

Every single one of us did the big ICE slide!

They've added a few new features since our last visit three years ago - the Frostbite Factory talks about how the ice is brought in and carved and there was a carver present who was demonstrating his skill.

The boys loved this clear elf that reminded them of Noah - our Elf on the Shelf at home.

And of course the finale is always a clear scene of the Nativity.

Out in the gift shop the boys spent some of their Christmas money on a great deal that the Build a Bear workshop had on Star Wars bears. We brought home a Darth Vader bear, a Storm Trooper Bear and a Chewbacca bear.

We had a great time hanging out and spending time with Grandmommy and Granddaddy. It was a great way to wrap up our Christmas vacation.
