Our youth group, including Parker, attended a Connect retreat weekend at camp. We kicked things off on Friday night with dinner at our youth director's house - youth and families. Daryl got to hang out with this little guy; it is SO neat to watch the babies you baptize grow up. He just celebrated his first birthday!
One of my covenant sisters was the speaker for camp this weekend - Latricia is the Wesley Foundation pastor at FAMU in Tallahassee.
The kids competed in teams all weekend. This is Parker's team - all about sports.
Over the weekend the kids learned the positive power of connectivity on social media. They worked to raise awareness with their social networks to raise money for UMCOR (the United Methodist Committee on Relief) to help victims of hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico. They raised over $10,000 in less than 48 hours!!!!! So thankful for our group and for all of the kids at camp this weekend who worked so hard to help others!
