Beach Vacation

We had a lovely time at the beach last week. It was our third year at Crescent Arms - the two matching towers in the picture. We stay in the south building, on the 4th floor on the right with an awesome beach view from our room.

The first couple of days it was pretty windy so our beach time was really limited to some long walks along the water and then some pool time later in the afternoon for the boys. It was even too cloudy for sunsets for the first few days. We did manage to make it to our favorite restaurant and first night ritual - Daiquiri Deck.

We hit our stride on Tuesday and were able to put up our pop-up tent on the beach and stay out for hours, enjoying the view and the beach. Davis played so hard, he ended up taking a nap...at the beach and later at the pool.

We even got a perfect sunset and finished off the night with sweet treats from Big Olaf's Amish Ice Cream.

Wednesday was a super special day because Grandmommy and Granddaddy came down to the beach to spend the day with us. We loved getting to spend time with them. Grandmommy spent a lot of time in the water with the boys which they loved, and Daryl and his dad got to spend a lot of time together.  Daryl even made his special hamburgers for dinner and we ate together at the apartment.

Davis and Wesley got a chance to show off their jumping/flopping skills at the pool, even in the rain.

Thursday was a super lazy day for us. We slept in late, watched movies, read books, napped and didn't leave the room until it was time for dinner. But it was so nice to have this beautiful beach view even while we relaxed.

Our last day at the beach was beautiful. Love this spot in the world - Crescent Beach, Siesta Key. We've both been coming here during summers for years - Daryl since he was in elementary school and me since middle school. I added it up the other day and I've only missed 5 summers spread out in the last 30 years.
