Weekend Escape

In 1982, just before their first wedding anniversary, my parents bought a timeshare unit on the far east end of International Drive where there was literally nothing else for blocks around - Orlando International Resort Club. I remember going with them to tour the different condos they were considering. They almost bought one in Clermont and I'm so glad they had the foresight to pick this one in Orlando!

I grew up spending spring break here every year as IDrive and Orlando grew around us. We did lots of shopping and always spent time in Sea World and Disney World. One year we came and went to the pool at night and there was this huge glow in the sky north of us that we had never seen before. That was the year that Universal Studios opened, just across I4 from the condo. Now if you blink fast you can miss the whole complex since it’s surrounded by FunSpot and outlet malls. They bought so long ago we get a ridiculous number of points to trade and can usually get 2-3 weeks away for our 1 week. It's been 5 years since we stayed here because of all the exchanges that we've done; we’ve traded up and down the east coast and will visit Arizona later this year.
This past weekend, we had the opportunity to get a few days off and we booked into the original condo for what would have been my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. The place is in fantastic shape and has been so well maintained over the years inside and out (bonus, our maintenance fees are some of the lowest around and have stayed flat for years!) I'm so grateful for all of the good memories here and so very grateful for this gift from my parents that keeps on giving and helps us make memories still.

Friday - checkin and some time at Epcot

Saturday - relaxing day at the pool and a little shopping

Sunday - more pool time and Epcot/Hollywood Studios with Disney Springs for dinner

Living with the Land boat ride never disappoints - they do such a good job of seasonally updating this - it was one of my families' favorite rides growing up

Then we took the Skyliner from Epcot to Hollywood Studios

We finished off our fun weekend with some early morning pool time on Monday before checking out and returning to reality (school/work).
