Annual Conference

Annual Conference was online again this year. Most of the tribe were delegates for the church or the district, including Parker who was a lay delegate for the very first time! So we gathered for the first day last Friday in our living room. The Hills brought lunch and we made dinner in the crockpot.

Day two of Annual Conference was Saturday. I drove down to Lakeland to the conference office and did the morning sessions there. Then I went over to First Lakeland to help with the three worship services in the afternoon for licensing, commissioning and ordaining folks for worship. It is such a privilege to work with the provisional pastors during the RIM process - we commissioned 14 new provisional pastors and ordained 14 from our previous classes.

This is me with Allee Willcox. I had the pleasure of being on the District Committee on Ordained Ministry when she first came through for certification as a candidate and I have been at every district and conference interview that she has been a part of over the last several years. She was ordained this weekend! Allee gives me hope for the future of the church.
