The Great House Purge

Today we started the Great House Purge of 2022 in preparation for moving in two months to Sarasota. We emptied the attic. Mostly junk and we hauled away two carloads of trash. But there were some fun finds. The chairs in the bottom right of the first picture belonged to my great-grandparents, Elmer and Cora Miles. My aunt Susie remembers using these as a kid when visiting the family farm in southern Indiana. They are still in such great shape.

Also this trunk, which held all my belongings the summer I served as a counselor at Warren Willis camp in 1997! It was full of old financial records.

And these beauties. Pictures of Parker and Wesley from their first birthdays - with photo mats signed by everyone who was in attendance. It was so cool to see the signatures and read the messages.

We gifted the green machine to friends and put the wheelbarrow up on Facebook Marketplace.

Slowly but surely. One room at a time. We'll get there.
