Visiting South West Florida with the Bishop

The Tuesday after the hurricane, I traveled to south Florida with Bishop Carter and some other folks from the conference office including a rep from UMCOR. We started at Faith UMC in Fort Myers on McGregor Boulevard. We prayed with their pastor Dennis and also met with the pastor of Beach UMC on Fort Myers Beach, Samantha.

Then we visited Cypress Lake UMC with their pastor Marcus. 

Then we visited Grace Central UMC campus - this was a huge field of tree debris across the street from the church. 

We wrapped up our time south at Tice UMC where I used to serve. Their pastor Juan is doing a wonderful job leading them. 

And then we drove up to Harvest UMC in Bradenton. They were serving as a supply depot for people donating supplies south.
