Busy Weekend

Saturday morning we were up bright and early so that we could take the boys to Lowe's for the School Bus Build and Grow Clinic. The boys had lots of fun building the buses which had chalkboard lids for the schoolbus roof....Wesley even sang the "Wheels on the Bus" song while we were working.

Afterwards, we took off to sign Parker up for a fall bowling league at the East Galaxy Lanes. This is a different bowling alley than the one from last year and thankfully this one has a league starting at the end of September on Saturday afternoons - which means no more conflicts with t-ball in the mornings. This league will run for 16 weeks and Parker will get an Ironman bowling ball at the end of it. A little shopping and some lunch and we headed home to chill out. Thankfully when we got home the phone company had fixed our home telephone and Internet which had been out since Friday morning when a wire came off the pole outside.

Sunday morning was a Pulpit Swap since it was the 5th Sunday. Daddy and the boys went to Belleview and Mommy went to Druid Hills (this was Mommy's first time back in the pulpit since July 4th). Both services went really well and folks seemed receptive to the messages. Mommy even brought a couple of guests to Druid Hills - Grandma and Miss Sandy showed up. Miss Sandy used to be the youth director at Seffner UMC when Mommy was growing up. After church we had lunch, hung out the house for a while and then took the ladies out for dessert at Bruster's to celebrate Grandma's birthday (which was last Wednesday along with Grandpa's). We drove them around to see some of the historic district and downtown before heading home for presents and more play time with the boys. Wesley missed his nap and was so tuckered out after they left that he was asleep by 8pm!
