Catching Up With Parker

It's been over a week since Parker received his last report card which had two "S"s for PE and Language Arts and all "E"s for everything else. His reward for a good report card was to go to the store and pick out a new book. He selected book 3 in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series he loves so much.

Last week at Cub Scouts we had a den meeting and Parker received a few more activity beads towards his Tiger badge and also a few more belt loops. This time he earned belt loops for baseball, computers and art.

Then this past Saturday we finished up with the bowling league. Parker's average was up to a 51 by the end of the season and on Saturday he bowled a 64 and a 68! We are just waiting now on the bowling alley to issue his certificate so that we can go online and order his new bowling ball from the Marvel Heroes line. He wants this one:

No more regular Saturday sports until March arrives with tee-ball. But Parker does have a special race coming up on February 19th. All of the kids from Marion County public schools are invited to Jervey Gantt Park for races based on their age group. Parker will be running a 1/4 mile around the track with other 6 year olds. We'll see how Sir Speedy stacks up against other kids from around the district!
