Sunny Outdoor Fun

Thursday was finally a pretty sunny day. The big boys and I spent the morning on the Vordach Zipline course. This year they had the ski lift running up to the top. We had a lot of fun going through this course together.

I rappelled off the 8th zip tower. So much fun!

When we got back to the condo, we met up with Davis and Baba, who had spent the morning hanging out and watching movies and playing. We decided as a family to try the hike to the top of Bald Mountain. The map said that the route was 3 miles roundtrip. It lied! We walked 5 very roundabout, very steep miles through the forest up to the top of the mountain.

There were three different viewpoints towards the end of the trail at the top. This is the first one.

This is the second one, just around the corner. Definitely the best of the three vantage points.

The third viewpoint was a little further down and opened up with a small meadow near the edge of the Camp Merrie Woode property. We found a small spring bubbling up and refilled our water bottles here.

It got really windy on the return trip and we could hear the thunder! We hustled and made it back to the condo just in time to beat the big rainstorm.

We were all exhausted after five miles - plus these two had zip lined. We found them napping!!

For our last night in town we tried dinner at a new-to-us restaurant in Cashiers - Randevu. We had a lovely evening - great atmosphere, delicious food and one of the owners (from Bulgaria) chatted us up throughout dinner. She and her family love to vacation in Florida. Their trout was amazing!!! It was a lovely way to close out our time in town.
