Craniofacial Update

Davis had his annual craniofacial clinic appointment on Friday at Orlando Health. Daryl and I were both able to go with him. We saw the oral and maxillofacial surgeon, the audiologist, speech pathologist and genetics. They are very pleased with all of the progress that the last two surgeries and therapy have made in his speech. X-rays showed his double bone graft from 2019 is holding up well. They’re working on a referral for us to a pediatric dentist in Sarasota to check out one of his front teeth. The next round of braces can probably wait until he’s in high school. But the best news of all that we are celebrating, especially Davis - they do not expect he will need any further surgery before his jaw alignment surgery at age 16/17 when he’s mostly done growing. That means the nice break we’ve enjoyed this year on surgery should be extended for a few more years.

On the way home we stopped off for lunch at D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs to celebrate!
