Another Wedding Weekend

This weekend Mommy was busy with some extra stuff at church. First of all was a baptism on Saturday afternoon for a little girl Gracie from the community. It was an interesting baptism for two reasons. One, the little girl wore the most beautiful family heirloom - a lace gown and bonnet made from her great-grandmother's wedding dress. And second because the baptism was not only attended by family and friends but also the family dog, Cookie. The family smuggled the little toy poodle into the sanctuary and fortunately she behaved rather well.

Then after the baptism it was off to Miss Jessica's wedding rehearsal. Miss Jessica has been a member of the church for a few years and she had been one of Parker's preschool teachers at Noah's. After getting engaged to Heiko (who's in the Army), she wanted Mommy to perform the ceremony and Parker to be her ringbearer. Although the best man was two hours late and we went ahead without him, the rest of it went well. And today's afternoon ceremony at the Gulf Harbors Yacht Club by the water's edge was very lovely. The only glitch was the wind prevented us from being able to use the unity candle. Parker did pretty well walking in and out and managed to stand up front without too much fidgeting (thankfully he didn't have to go potty during the ceremony like last time!). Then afterwards it was time for some pictures and a nice dinner and party inside. We sat with some of Jessica's relatives who are also members of the church and had a really good time. Jessica had done so much planning that even Wesley had a placecard at the table and at each boy's spot was a little bag with a small coloring book (Wedding Fun) and some crayons! There was a seashell theme and since Parker is obsessed with seashells he was quite taken with the centerpieces on the tables, as well as the seashell placecard holders and wedding favors!
