Daddy Preaches at Faith

Daddy got another chance to preach today, this time at Faith. He needed to redo his sermon and videotape it in front of a live congregation to send back to the District Committee on Ordained Ministry by August 1st. Grandmommy and Granddaddy traveled up for the special event this morning.

Daddy did a great job!!! He was much more free in his delivery than in the past, not relying on his notes as much and making good gestures and great eye contact. And the congregation was very welcoming and very complimentary. In fact, Miss Shirley told Mommy that "she's got competition now!" We're so proud of him!!!!

After church today we went out to eat with Grandmommy and Granddaddy and then they came back to the house for some good play time with the boys. Parker's new favorite game in the house is to play imaginary baseball, where you pitch to him and he hits the ball and runs the bases around the furniture in our living room, always sliding home. He also got out his soft-sided football and played catch, and practiced "hut, hut, hike!" Granddaddy even did some home improvements while he was here, helping Daddy change out a dimmer switch in the living room for a regular light switch. We had a really nice afternoon with them and are so glad they came up for the day. We're looking forward to our beach vacation with them (and Uncle Daniel's crew) that starts this coming Saturday.
