Memorial Day Weekend - Sunday

Since today was the 5th Sunday of the month, ordinarily Mommy and Daddy would have swapped pulpits today. However Daddy's church goes all out for Memorial Day and we didn't want him to miss that so we've put off our swap until next week. Druid Hills' celebration of Memorial Day included which included flags on the lawn, a cross of red white and blue flowers, a color guard and the pledge, a special litany led by veterans and special hymns.


After we all got home from our respective services and lunches today, we hung out at our house for a bit before packing up and heading to Seffner. First stop was the Sheppards' house. Mr. and Mrs. Sheppard are the parents of Daddy's best friend from high school. Mr. Sheppard was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and we wanted to stop by and check in on him. Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Uncle Joe was in town from north Florida for the weekend and we all had dinner together and watched the boys play. Later we ended up at Grandmommy and Granddaddy's where we crashed for the night......anticipating a fun Monday swimming if the weather cooperates.
