Fourth of July

Our celebration for the Fourth of July started on Saturday afternoon when we went to the Reid's house for a pool party. We had a wonderful time with friends from Daddy's church - talking and eating, and playing in the sand. Chuck had recently built a new bar for the backporch with a sand box top complete with shells and little rakes and shovels to play in! The boys had a blast in and out of the pool with the Reid's grandkids: Adam, Shelby and Abby. In fact the pool was so much of a draw for our boys that they wouldn't stop to eat when everyone else did and didn't eat dinner until we were ready to go home at bedtime.

Sunday morning dawned nice and bright in Ocala. We both had great crowds for the holiday and a great time in worship. In fact, the Druid Hills church celebrated Daddy's 1 year anniversary with a special gift and presentation in worship - this beautiful shadowbox for his office.

After worship, Mommy and the boys joined Daddy at his church for lunch. Then we went home to chill out while Daddy did some visiting. Later on in the afternoon we decided on the spur of the moment to pack up and head to Brandon for the Fourth of July parade set to start at 6:30pm. We made it just in the nick of time, but the clouds were looking pretty ominous. We got about 30 minutes of parade in before the rain came down so hard we had to go home. Still the boys managed to get a pretty good haul of beads and candy and have some fun!
