Spring Break - Orlando - Day Three

Monday morning was a repeat of the day before except we traded Hollywood Studios for Animal Kingdom. We got into the park by about 9:30am and we were on the go until we left about 6:3opm. Hollywood Studios is divided into seven different areas: Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Streets of America, Mickey Avenue, Pixar Place, Animation Courtyard and Sunset Boulevard.

We went straight inside past Mickey's magic hat (from Fantasia) into the Hollywood Boulevard for the Great Movie Ride. The picture of the smiling faces with Daddy was captured before the ride got started. The boys got a little spooked when our tram was "hijacked" during the tour and our tram driver disappeared to be replaced by a bank robber - especially since we were sitting in the second row. We had to keep explaining over and over again that things were fake and just meant to be silly.

When we got back into the sunlight, we brought some smiles back to little boys by having their picture taken with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.

Then we decided to really play up the smiles and the fun! We headed over to Pixar Place for the Toy Story Midway Mania ride. It's a ride that takes you through several different rooms where you can shoot targets for points. The wait was 45 minutes but it went by fairly quickly as we wound through the oversized toys in the waiting area. And the boys absolutely loved the ride!!!

Afterwards we stopped at a character place next door to meet Buzz and Woody. There were several scenes for pictures from the first and second Toy Story movies that kept the boys' interest as we waited for the main event.

Later we stopped by the Animation Courtyard next to meet Wesley's new favorite TV show star - Handy Manny!

For the next part we have no pictures. We took the boys over to Sunset Boulevard for a ride on the Tower of Terror! It was another long wait but we used the time to have some snacks and take a bathroom break. The boys weren't quite sure what to expect - we likened it to their Fiddler Crab ride at Sea World with the big drops. They weren't crazy about the spooky part, but Wesley is a daredevil and absolutely loved the big drops!! Next up was some lunch and we managed to snag a a great table outside in the shade.

After lunch we hustled over to Echo Lake to catch the Indiana Jones Stunt Show Spectacular. This was a huge hit with our guys - Wesley spontaneously clapped through much of it and afterwards Parker decided he wanted to see the other stunt show of the day involving cars.

The show got out just in time to catch the end of a Jedi Training Academy outside the nearby closed Star Tours ride (it's being refurbished). And we also got to meet a few Star Wars characters.
