Mommy returned to Tampa early on Wednesday morning and spent the day with Grandma and Aunt Susie at Grandpa's bedside. We read Scripture, held his hand and played music for him. In particular we played several cds of hymns by Sandi Patti that he enjoyed as well as a cassette tape of his parents singing and playing with their quartet, the Gospel Harmony Four. At 4am on Thursday, April 21, Grandpa passed away. Mommy stayed in town to help make arrangements and then came home late that night.
We will be going back to Seffner after Easter services on Sunday and then staying to celebrate Grandpa's life on Monday and Tuesday. All of the arrangements as well as his obituary can be found on the Garden of Memories website.
We have been so touched by all of the expressions of love and care and concern that we have received from our friends, fellow clergy and by both of our churches. It means so much to our family to have so much support. Please keep us in your prayers especially for next week. Thank you.
