We hit the pit party about noon and got to see all the trucks: Grinder, Stone Crusher, Captain's Curse, Bad News Travels Fast, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and of course, Gravedigger!
No that's not a Monster Truck but the boys wanted their picture with the big equipment used to tow the trucks and move the obstacles around.
We checked out the "Ride A Monster Truck" opportunity because the boys had a blast riding Blue Thunder last year. However this year the powers that be substituted a generic Monster Truck instead of one of the big names and then doubled the prices ($10 a person cash). So we skipped that and instead wandered over to check out the four-wheeler and demolition derby cars that would be used to entertain in between monster truck events and the Ford vehicles that were on display.
Monster Jam did not disappoint. Parker proclaimed it "amazing" and "awesome" while Wesley pronounced it "cool." Captain's Curse won the wheelie contest, Gravedigger won the racing portion and Grinder won the freestyle competition. Stone Crusher had a problem during the wheelie competition but made it back for freestyle. Gravedigger almost won the freestyle part too, but he lost a wheel right at the end.
And just in case you were wondering, the woman driving the soccer mom minivan won the demolition derby!!!
