Siesta Key 2012

We both preached at church (5th Sunday pulpit swap) on Sunday July 29th, then came home to change clothes, clean the house, load up the car and headed out on VACATION!

 We arrived at Siesta Key Beach about 5:30pm and located our unit at Siesta Royale, where we have stayed since 2010. After unloading and quickly unpacking, we headed out for dinner at our favorite spot in the Village - Daiquiri Deck. The boys had fun goofing off with the new cardboard cutout. The food was as great as we remembered and we loved being able to watch the Olympics on the big TVs all around.

After a nice leisurely dinner, we headed out to the Point of the Island for a glimpse of the sunset....we missed it by a few minutes, but it was still so pretty. 

 

Our last stop of the night before heading back to our apartment, was to find Publix and stock up our kitchen with all kinds of goodies. We remembered to snap a few pics when we got back to the room (before the boys had a chance to really play!). We were in a different apartment this year, same beach facing building, just one unit over on the first floor.

We all settled in for the night and watched the Olympics - the grownups in the living room and the boys in the bedroom. They slept on the giant air mattress we brought on the floor between the bed and dresser with their sleeping bags and pillow pets. They loved being able to "stay up" at night and watch TV in their bed.
