Out with the Old, and In with the New

We've had a change in kitchen appliances this week. 
The old toaster oven/broiler is out


and the new rice cooker/steamer is in! 


Daryl has had the toaster oven since before we were married. In the early days of our married life together we used it alot to make cheese bread and cook Stouffer's individual French bread pizzas. It's been a couple of years at least since we've used it but we didn't have a need for anything else on the counter, so it sat. But with our new little boy at home, we've needed to incorporate that rice cooker/steamer into our repertoire. The rice cooker is awesome! It's programmable for delayed start to cooking, and has settings for white rice, brown rice and steaming. Plus whenever it's done cooking it switches over automatically to keeping things warm. It's how we cooked Davis' steamed pork buns this week and it will definitely come in handy in the future.
