Play Ball

So Monday night found us at the ballfield again - Ocala Rotary Sportsplex. It was time for the very first practices of the season. Wesley has Coach Craig and met on field 2 at 5:30pm. His Rookie team is the Blue Jays. Parker has Coach Nick and met on field 7 at 6:00pm. His Minors team is the Braves. If these practices are any indication, it will be a very interesting season. Daryl stayed with Welsey at practice. He has a teammate that is a bit of a drama king who laid on the infield saying "I give up" after being asked to run a lap for whining. Davis and I watched Parker practice and while the coach is not exactly abrasive, there will definitely be no coddling of children on this team. 

Thankfully there are only three weeks of practices before the actual games start, because while games are on Tuesdays and Thursday and work very well in our schedule, practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays and mean missing Scouts and Kids Club. We have already had to line up a babysitter/chauffeur for tomorrow night's practice since I have Bible study and Daryl has all his monthly meetings at Druid Hills this Wednesday night. 

But seriously, it was great to be out at the ballfield again this week. We love being outside in the fresh air. Last year we used the time at the field to review adoption files and dream about our little boy - this year we get to have him there with us. And he is paying close attention to all the action and waiting his own turn......it won't be long before this guy is ready for some tee-ball!
