Church Has Left the Building

Yesterday Druid Hills participated in their first ever Church Has Left The Building Event. 86 people volunteered on 5 different teams: yardwork at Arnette House, worship and communion at Ocala Health and Rehab, redecorating three rooms at Interfaith, party and storytime for the women and kids at the Domestic Violence Shelter and packing 200 health kits for UMCOR. It was a wonderful success and folks really enjoyed the opportunity to get out and volunteer in places!

Wesley decided to go to church with Daryl so that he could participate. He ended up going to do yardwork at Arnette House (a home for troubled teens) with the Palmers and Miss Kelsey. Mr. Dave even let Wesley use the leaf blower - that was a big hit! Wesley wanted us to go to Home Depot later this afternoon and buy him one for the house!

Super glad to see that the folks of Druid Hills embraced this opportunity as well as they did. We heard lots of good testimonies of people's experiences.
