Holy Week and Easter Worship

We had some wonderful opportunities for worship during Holy Week. We had a great Maundy Thursday service at Community and then a combined worship service with our clergy peer group on Good Friday held at New Covenant UMC in the Villages.

Easter Sunday morning began with "sunrise" service outside. The sky got lighter but we were never able to see the sun through the clouds. Thankfully it didn't rain!

Then we had our regular three worship services inside and they were all well-attended. We ended up with 1,450 for the day in worship, which was just amazing!!

Our 9:30 service in the Family Life Center featured our new stage design with an additional screen in the center.

Here we are with the worship band after worship. So thankful for these people who give of their time and talents week after week in leading the music.

Daryl with his "brother" Sam. So many people have asked if these two are related that Sam has just decided to be the older brother. He even wore a bow tie so that he would match with Daryl. Sam's wife was the one who coached Parker in basketball this season.

Davis with his friend Elijah. Love these two all spiffed up.

We instituted a living flower cross at CUMC this year and it was SO full of flowers, front and back. Since we were all at the same church together this year it was much easier to get family pictures with the cross to celebrate Easter.

And this is our family Easter cake, a gift from Sam's daughter Kami who made this Easter Bunny special for us!
