Band Picnic

Last Saturday afternoon we headed over to Lake Griffin State Park in town for the Carver Middle School Band Awards Picnic. The kids had fun playing on the playground, playing football in the field and walking through the woods. Mr Eury the band director made hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone and all the families brought a side dish and their own drinks. After lunch was over, he recognized every student for their participation and then had some other special awards for the graduating 8th graders.

At the end of one of the nature trails is this giant Live Oak. It's the second oldest Live Oak in the state of Florida, estimated to be around 500 years old. The boys had fun hiking out to it and then being silly!
