4th of July Celebration

We spent July 4th in Leesburg at the Pat Thomas Stadium on Lake Harris to watch the Leesburg Lightning play baseball. We ran into a whole bunch of people from church, one of whom bought our boys some fresh watermelon as a snack!

It was hot, but it was a great evening of fun. The Leesburg Lightning managed to win the game 6-2.

When the game was over, everyone was allowed to move their chairs onto the field to get ready for the fireworks. That meant we didn't have to fight for a viewing spot in the Venetian Gardens park next door where people had been waiting for hours. The boys had fun running around with their friends from church while the grownups visited some more.

And then the fireworks began! Lake County puts on a great fireworks show. Twenty minutes of fireworks set to music piped through the stadium. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday.
