School Days

Wednesday morning we went to Fruitland Park Elementary for a check presentation by Bless Fruitland Park. This is an organization comprised of local businesses, local churches and city officials to help direct generosity to places in our city that need it the most. One of those is our local elementary school. The money and in-kind donations that were collected this summer for our school was over $20,000! These funds are directed by the principal towards areas of need within the school that she can't get funds for through the district: STEM programs, Art Club and supplies, incentives for students, mentoring programs, National Junior Honor Society and more. This year most of the money will be funneled towards getting more technology in the classrooms.

On our way out of the school, we stopped by Davis' classroom. We got to see one of his projects up on the wall and it was right next to his friend Shya's.
