Spring Break Part Five - Disney World

After leaving the port, we drove up to Disney World to spend some time and hang out more as a family. It was the Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT, so that was our first stop to check things out, get our newest passholder magnets and get some lunch at the Rose and Crown Pub.

Our view from the back porch of lunch. The boys were entertained by the birds and several turtles that kept popping up nearby. Lunch was delicious too!

My vegan crumble - delicious!

We headed back to relax in our hotel room in Disney Springs for a bit. Then I drove Parker to Clermont to meet up with our youth director. The high schoolers were leaving early the next am to go on a mystery retreat - so he hung out at home by himself, did his laundry and got repacked. He didn't mind the chance to watch NCAA basketball and play video games with some peace and quiet.

When I got back to the hotel, I picked up the rest of the family and we ran into the Magic Kingdom and caught the fireworks and two rides in the last 45 minutes - Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise. The lines to get out of the park were so long we walked over to the Contemporary and caught the monorail back to our car from there.

Friday morning we went to the Wilderness Lodge for breakfast at one of our favorite spots - Whispering Canyon Cafe. It was our first time here for breakfast and they had great All-You-Can-Eat breakfast skillets and I got my own allergy free one.

Then we headed over to spend some time in Animal Kingdom. I was able to get Fastpasses for everything Wesley and Davis wanted to do - It's Tough To Be a Bug Show, Primeval Whirl and the Lion King Festival Show. We also spent some time watching the monkeys and touring the two animal paths in Asia and Africa. It was a great way to end a wonderful vacation!

These Asian Water Buffalo are named Blanche, Dorothy and Rose!

It's Kevin from Up!
