Recognizing the extreme stress that pastors are under in this season, the Florida Conference of the UMC has made gifts of up to $1,000 available for full-time clergy to fund something that will help their spiritual, emotional, physical or mental health. Some people have applied for the cost of counseling or a gym membership. Debbie got a kayak - because she loves the water and this will be a low impact form of exercise to help her with her autoimmune issues. Daryl got a treadmill; he's stopped walking in our neighborhood due to his decreased vision and now he can get back to exercising as well. We are very thankful for the Board of Pension and Health Benefits making these gifts available to clergy.
