Sapphire Valley Hideaway Part One

We rented a private condo on Fairfield Lake in Sapphire Valley this year from a family that lives on the east coast of Florida. This is their Fairfield Lake Hideaway and it was absolutely beautiful!

The upstairs was the living room, dining room and kitchen with a balcony. (These are the stock photos from their listing online).

The downstairs was 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms also with a balcony.

Here was the view from the back porch when we checked in. You could see Old Bald to the left (north) since the trees are mostly bare.

We were impressed that the condo had been decorated for Christmas, including a small tree and garland on the fireplace mantel.

We had some electrical and Wifi issues and the condo owners responded quickly getting us an electrician the next day and the internet company out the day after that to get everything fixed.

The kitchen was super well stocked.
Love this coffee mug we found in the cabinet.

The only issue we really had was a tall person problem - Wesley was taller than the showered in the guest bathroom so he kept using ours all week.

We spent the rest of the first evening stopping by the community center and getting groceries at Ingles in nearby Cashiers. Wednesday morning found us walking the short distance down to the lake so Wesley could see about using some of his fishing gear. Then we were off to hike Whiteside Mountain and on the way back we got lunch at Cashiers Smokehouse.

Hiking Whiteside Mountain - it was cold but it had rained pretty solid for the last couple of days. So no ice formations this time.

Later that night we wandered around the lake and the trail for a bit again.

Our condo from the lake trail - second from the right.
