Protesting in south Florida

Sunday night I met a bunch of UMC clergy and laity from our district at the entrance to "Alligator Alcatraz" in the Everglades. We held a prayer vigil across the street from it. There were other clergy and laity there from other faith traditions too. The road and driveway are in Collier county which is in the South West district; the tents are in Miami Dade county which is in the South East district. All of it is in the Miccosukee Reservation land; they've sued the federal government to shut the camp down.

There were clergy and laity there from 8 different churches in our district. So proud of them all for coming out to stand against this horrible place.
