Santa on the Square

Tonight we went to downtown Ocala to see Santa on the Square. In the pavilion in the middle of downtown where Parker and Mommy had gone to see the tree turned on a few weeks ago, Santa and Mrs. Claus had taken up residence to meet the kiddos. They were to be there from 6-8pm and we arrived at 5:59 to discover that a bunch of other parents had the same idea we did. We stood patiently in line and finally got to see Santa Claus at 7:10pm. Fortunately the boys enjoyed watching all the lights downtown, as well as the horse-drawn carriages and hayride going by. And there was music too - some canned Christmas songs and then a special live performer who had a great voice and was excellent in interacting with all the children on the square.

When we got up to see Santa, Wesley was hesitant so Mommy and Daddy got into the sleigh and Wesley sat on Mommy's lap. Wesley just stared at Santa, but Parker was very brave this year. When Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas, Parker spoke right up and said his little list calmly and carefully: a new game for the playstation and a toy computer. He was so proud of himself for talking to Santa all by himself!
