Super Saturday

Today we braved the cold, cold weather to sit outside and watch Parker's t-ball team play. It was their second to last game of the season. Hard to believe that it's almost over already.

Afterwards we came home to defrost and the guys played some Mario Kart on the Wii. Later Mommy ran to get lunch and we watched the first part of the Gator game. By 1:45pm everyone was heading out the door - Daddy to church for their block party and Mommy and the boys to bowling. Parker did really well today with his two games. He bowled a 50 and also a 44 this afternoon. Then we swung by the library to drop off our library books before heading to the block party.

The block party is the church's gift to the community, as a way of saying thank-you for all of their support during Pumpkin Patch. Daddy even got to talk on the radio (WOCA 1370am) this week for 30 minutes with one of the block party committee members to promote the event. All of the rides and games and food were completely free to anyone who showed up between 2 and 5pm today. There were lots of different things around the property. The big gorilla standing on the corner attracting attention as everyone went by...the friendly llama....the firefighters showing kids their fire truck.

The first thing Parker wanted to do was the Ocala Police Department's Bike Rodeo - they provided the bikes and helmets and sent the kids off on an obstacle course!

Then Wesley wanted to do the slide. After he was so brave on the slide at the Trunk N Treat, he was really excited. He did it two times - the second time he went down on his tummy backwards!
Then it was on to the bounce house, in which they bounced and bounced and bounced away.

Parker really enjoyed the Twin Spin!

After catching up with their friends Jami and Lindsi, it was off to the Choo-choo train for a ride around the parking lot.

Next up was some food. The boys swung by the tent and picked up drinks, hot dogs and chips....then headed over for dessert at the Cake Walk. Lindsi walked with Wesley to help him out. Both boys managed to win stuff - Parker's Ziploc baggie of chocolate chip muffins never even made it home!

Finally we finished up inside the education building where there were several kiddie games set up - basketball toss, bean bag toss, hula hoops and bowling. After watching his Bubba bowl today, Wesley ran straight over and knocked down three pins.

It was a wonderful afternoon of fun and there were so many people from the community who came out to participate. After staying to help clean up we finally made left about 6:30pm and spent a quiet evening at home.
