Halloween Mini Vacation Part One

Parker had no school last Friday so we used that as our day off and snuck away to Orlando for a mini-vacation with the boys to celebrate Halloween. We got up and packed and left about 10:30am and headed down to the outlet malls for some great deals. We thrilled the boys by grabbing lunch at the Food Court (Sbarro) and visiting the Crocs store. We checked into our hotel a little after 3pm and hung out in the room for a while. We got a cheap room at the Rosen Plaza off of Kayak.com which is on I-Drive by the Convention Center. We left the hotel about 4:30pm to head across the street to the Peabody Hotel to see the ducks. We haven't been here in several years so Wesley had never seen the procession and Parker didn't remember it. The ducks live in a fabulous penthouse suite and come down to play in the fountain from 11am to 5pm each day.

It was quite an impressive little ceremony and the boys really enjoyed it! Then it was time for dinner. We headed to Lake Buena Vista and had dinner at Sweet Tomatoes before heading into Downtown Disney to walk around. They had everything decorated for Halloween too, but the boys main objective was to see the completely expanded/redone LEGO store (in conjunction with the new Legoland in Winter Haven).

Wesley had fun shopping in some of the other stores too. These are Stitch claws..... and then some figurines in the Pin Trader shop.

We called it a night about 9:30pm and headed back to the hotel to crash out. Saturday morning was bright and early for the next part of our adventure.
