Moving In

Introducing our new home in Fruitland Park.

Daryl and I drove up early to meet the movers on Monday June 29 at the new house. We were greeted warmly by a sign on the door and four men from the church who had come by to offer their help in anyway they could. The movers had everything handled though and it was a very smooth process as they unloaded all of our furniture and boxes. The United Methodist Women's circles took up the job of "Pad the Pantry" and stocked our pantry and our refrigerator with food.

The former pastor was a Seminoles fan so it didn't take long for us to stake our claim as Gator fans (and send Pastor Mike a picture to annoy him!)

Grandmommy and Granddaddy brought the kids up about 6pm that evening and they helped us work on setting up one of the kids' rooms before we went out and grabbed dinner.

At the church office, this was the welcome we received on the bulletin board
just outside the church office.

And the Fellowship Hall was all decorated too for refreshment time before the Sunday services.

We've been the recipients of numerous other expressions of love and care, including cards, calls, visits, help moving our stuff into the office, dinner most every night from different circles in the United Methodist Women, plus gift cards for groceries and local restaurants.

We are settling in slowly but surely. The new house is absolutely beautiful on the inside as well and we are keeping up the mantra of working on "one box at a time."
