For date day this week, we explored the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in downtown Sarasota, right along Sarasota Bay. We bought a family membership here for the year (with reciprocal membership to other gardens around the state) and this was our first visit. There's a second site down towards Venice also. They had a Tiffany glass exhibition going on which was lovely. And we really enjoyed the different vibe of the botanical garden with mangroves and the smells of the bay nearby.
