This morning I successfully defended my doctoral thesis with my advisory committee on Zoom. I gave a 25 minute powerpoint presentation and then answered questions for about 35 minutes. Then they excused me for a few minutes and welcomed me back with "Rev. Dr. Deborah Allen!"

Such a momentous moment after a very long journey to get here! I am in line for fall degree conferral at Garrett in October, which means I will get my diploma mailed to me in November. I will need to wait until May to walk for graduation and get hooded.
Daryl was home on a lunch break from jury duty to hear the good news. And then I treated myself with Starbucks, a labyrinth walk and dessert from CROP. Later Daryl and I went out to dinner at Stix and walked on the beach for sunset. |
