Kenya Day Six

We had one last opportunity to meet with the Zoe staff before leaving Maua. They are such amazing people and do such tremendous work with their respective groups.

Then we got in the car to drive to the safari part of the trip. Daryl found a new favorite drink in the convenience store.

As we game into the safari preserve, we did our first game drive of the trip on our way to the hotel (we did a total of three drives). The top of our van lifted up so that we could stand up and see everything while being protected in the van.

Our beautiful hotel, Simba Lodge, looked like it had been the inspiration for Animal Kingdom and the Lion King. We received refreshing juice at checkin (at Animal Kingdom we call it POG juice - pomegranate, orange and guava mix).

We headed down to our rooms which had fabulous balconies and spectacular views.

We walked back to the main lodge, past the pool, in order to get lunch.

We loved the view and even the animals came to hang out at lunch.

And then our group decided to take some time to cool off in the pool - which felt freezing to us!

We changed our clothes and headed back up to the lobby for our second safari drive. But we ran into some wildlife on the sidewalk - a huge baboon ran right past us headed for the trash can.
